Marina Samaniego
Marina Samaniego, is the energy, passion and the creative mind behind El Patio Latino.
Born in Peru, she emigrated to Spain in 1989 and created a catering company specializing in Peruvian and Latin American gastronomy, with support of her husband and sons.
In 1992, Barcelona’s Olympic Games year, she decides to open "El Patio Latino - Barcelona", obtaining great success right from the start.
With a familiar tradition of media people and pedagogues, Marina extends her activities towards the promotion and diffusion of Peruvian art and culture in Europe by "El Patio Latino - Promociones Culturales", that initially offers Latin American artistic shows with Spain-residents interpreters, and later organizes tours around many countries in Europe with famous Peruvian musicians and singers.
She put together the European tour of Eva Ayllón, Cecilia Barraza, Arturo "Zambo" Cavero, Oscar Avilés, Rosa Flor, etc.
During her tours she studies the possibility of opening other restaurants in European cities like Berlin or London, but finally she decides to make a bet for Peru, and in August of 2001 she inaugurates “El Patio Latino - Surco.Lima" built in a precious colonial style in the heart of the traditional district of Santiago de Surco in Lima, offering Peruvian and Spanish, gastronomy and shows.
In December 2004, she decides to extend horizons and offer gastronomy and Peruvian art to the public of the United States, opening a completely new establishment, in the coastal city of Sarasota in Florida, with a beautiful colonial decoration, signature of the house, brought directly from Peru and the best restaurant specialists from Peru and Spain.
